What Is The Difference Between Headshots And Mini Branding Sessions?

We are now offering Mini Branding Sessions in Charlotte NC on the first Thursday of every month and I want to explain what these sessions are perfect for and why it’s more than a headshot!

HEADSHOTS

Multiple headshots of men and women

For a professional photographer a headshot session will take about 5 minutes per person. It can offer you the opportunity to have a professional profile photo on various platforms. Download our 2023 Brand Book which gives you 15 ways to use your headshot for more details. But headshots are a one-off investment and unless you are a large corporation who needs profile photos for each member of your staff, it is likely better to invest in some kind of branding session over headshots.

What's Included:

  • Color and Black & White

  • One outfit only

  • Up to 5 fully edited photos

  • Web Resolution for all digital platforms

  • High Resolution for any printing needs

You select prior to shooting:

  • Inside or Outside

  • Vertical or Horizontal Orientation

You can opt for a headshot for $175 instead of a mini branding session if you like, but if you own any kind of business or have a website, you are doing yourself a disservice if you only get a headshot.

MINI BRANDING SESSIONS

A mini branding session will make you feel accomplished. You will have content for your website and social media to use immediately. It will motivate you to take that next step because you will feel confident you have a more professional face on your business. That goes a long way!

Whether you are a new or seasoned business owner these sessions are the perfect way to dip your feet in the water and get to know how brand photography can truly work for you.

What you get:

  1. A Guide - This will contain a suggested list of props plus a video guiding you through what to wear! I personally don’t love my photo taken, so I am very sensitive to how I pose and position you. I’ve got your back!

  2. The Details - Details that are NOT stock imagery. The custom details of what you do even if you are a service provider, are the most important element of any kind of branding shoot in my opinion. They string the story of what you do and who you are together. You don’t want a picture of your face in every spot on your website. You want to mix things up, even the standard photos of your hands typing on your keyboard can be useful when developing your website design. Keep in mind, those photos are of YOUR hands, they are not stock images.

  3. More than Headshots - We already talked about headshots but more than that we will get shots of you in action. Are you a speaker or trying to break into speaking gigs? The microphone in the photos above is my prop that I bring so we can stage things like this! There is SO much that goes through my creative brain when I hear what someone does for a living and it doesn’t take much time to accomplish it.

Finally, Mini Sessions are a great way to get to know your brand photographer. You want to feel empowered in front of the camera even if you generally hate your picture taken. At the same time you want to feel confident the brand photographer has a strategic mind that will result in quality, consistent photos of your brand. Branding is about who you are, what you do and why you do it. You want to know your photographer can capture all of that with their lens.

What's Included:

  • Mini brand session the first Thursday of each month

  • Prop guide and what to wear video

  • 20-min spots

  • 1 outfit change + details

  • Predetermined location

  • Online gallery

Mini Sessions are $525 and I never put a limit on how many photos you get!
